- Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Bookkeeper role based in Indianapolis, IN, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Bookkeeper will manage daily accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, reconciliation and maintaining accurate general ledger accounts. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card statements, assisting with the preparation of financial reports, and monitoring accounts payable and receivable. The role also involves working with accounting software to update records, generate reports, and support month-end and year-end closing processes. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide timely financial information and support the overall efficiency of the finance function. The role includes light office administration/human resource duties including manage health/business insurance, manage 401k and retirement accounts and employment files.
Qualifications
- Solid bookkeeping and finance skills, with experience managing day-to-day transaction recording and account reconciliations.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements to support decision-making and compliance.
- Proficiency with Quickbooks Desktop and related tools, including data entry, reporting, and system-based reconciliations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365
- Experience creating and posting journal entries in accordance with standard accounting practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience in a corporate or small-business accounting environment is preferred.
