Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport
- Accurately document customer vehicle concerns and service requests
- Prepare detailed repair orders and estimates using auto estimating software
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnostics, repairs, and parts needed
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle condition and customer needs
- Coordinate scheduling of repairs to optimize shop workflow
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive services including oil changes, tire service, alignments, suspension, brake repair, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brake systems, auto body repair, and more
- Ensure all work is documented accurately for warranty purposes and customer records
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and answering questions professionally
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or auto service management background preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to upsell services tactfully while maintaining customer trust
- Experience with auto estimating software and automotive repair processes
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, oil changes, alignment, suspension, tire service, brake repair, diesel engines, shocks & struts is highly desirable
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with automobile sales processes is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping
