We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join our team in a shop environment. The Pipefitter will be responsible for measuring, cutting, threading, and assembling piping systems according to specifications, drawings, and blueprints. You will be working on Chilled Water Systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with tools, equipment, and materials to produce high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders for pipe fabrication.
- Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using manual and power tools.
- Assemble and fit pipes, valves, and fittings in accordance with shop drawings and specifications.
- Prepare pipe joints by welding, brazing, soldering, or mechanical means as required.
- Perform quality checks to ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of piping assemblies.
- Operate shop machinery such as threading machines, pipe cutters, beveling machines, and grinders.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
- 3 years of pipefitting experience (shop or field).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with pipe fabrication tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Work Environment
- Shop setting with use of fabrication tools, machinery, and lifting equipment.
- May involve overtime or weekend work depending on production schedules.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
Job Types: Contract, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
