The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily inbound transportation. This role supports a team of logistics personnel, coordinates with internal departments and external carriers, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer service and operational objectives for a food service operation.
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Required Experience:
Associate's Degree or 1 - 3 years of procurement, logistics, warehouse and / or administrative experience in related area.
Experience with transportation management systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent presentation and problem-solving skills.
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily inbound transportation. This role supports a team of logistics personnel, coordinates with internal departments and external carriers, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer service and operational objectives for a food service operation.
- Supervises associates to include, but not limited to: leading, training, coaching, to achieve performance, safety and quality goals.
- Supports the monitoring and optimization of freight movement, carrier performance and route schedules.
- In partnership with Logistics Manager support the analysis of logistics metrics and support developing action plans to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels. Work with internal operations, operating companies and multi-unit teams to grow logistics programs.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, DOT regulations, and applicable laws
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction. Prepare and present reporting, as required, to leadership.
- Support the investigation of Freight Claims, Overages, Shortages and Damage (OS&D): Processing, Investigating, Documenting, Filing, as necessary.
- Supervise and support the correct and timely updating freight system data files; carrier rates, supplier information, Operating Company direct Bill back, Emergency Transfers, Release #, etc.
- Support the manager in freight invoice payment processing; auditing, validation, tracking, entering & submitting carrier invoices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
