Join Our Team – Overnight Equine Hospital Assistant
Performance Equine Vets is seeking a dependable, motivated Overnight Equine Hospital Assistant to join our growing hospital team. This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional overnight care to our hospitalized equine patients, with a primary focus on administering treatments, monitoring patients, and communicating changes in patient status.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with equine handling experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital and is committed to providing outstanding patient care.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer scheduled treatments and medications as directed by the veterinary team
- Monitor hospitalized patients throughout the night and promptly report any changes in condition
- Perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, and respiration) and ICUs
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with emergency cases as needed
- Maintain clean, organized treatment and hospital areas
- Restock supplies and prepare treatment areas for the following day
- Answer the emergency on call phone and fill out triage sheet to send to on call veterinarian
Qualifications
- Previous equine handling experience required
- Veterinary assistant or equine hospital experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing patient care
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working overnight, including weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule
- Able to lift, walk, and work safely around horses of all sizes and temperaments

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
