What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Hospital- Care Team position at Performance Equine Vets?
Performance Equine Vets is seeking dedicated and dependable Care Team Members to assist in both our Hospital and Reproductive Departments. This position is ideal for individuals with strong horse handling experience who enjoy hands-on patient care and working in a fast-paced equine veterinary environment.
As a Care Team Member, you will play an important role in the daily care and comfort of our patients while supporting both hospitalized and reproductive horses.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Feeding and watering horses
- Grooming and bathing patients
- Turning horses in and out
- Performing TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and ICU monitoring on hospitalized patients
- Administering approved medications as directed
- Maintaining clean and organized patient care areas
- Assisting with general daily horse care needs in both departments
Requirements:
- Horse handling experience is required
- Ability to work safely and confidently around horses of varying temperaments
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to participate in a rotating weekend schedule as needed
