About The Venue
SHACK15 is a social space dedicated to entrepreneurship, community, and big ideas. We create inspired gathering space and bring together passionate founders, innovators, and change makers from around the world. Shack15’s private events offerings stand out thanks to their location, design, cuisine, and atmosphere. Located on the top floor of San Francisco’s iconic Ferry Building at 1 Ferry Building Suite 201, the venue has sweeping panoramic views of the Bay, perched above a cultural and transit hub that also houses a celebrated farmers market. The total space is about 51,000 to 52,000 square feet, divided into a central Lounge and several private rooms including the Kilden & Finstua, Hulen, The Sanctuary, The Gallery, and The Salon, each curated with clean, Scandinavian-inspired design, natural textures, built-in lighting and sound, AV displays, DJ booth, and even a baby-grand piano. Capacities range from intimate gatherings of 40 to large seated or standing formats for over 300 guests. Their food and drinks program elevates the experience through a farm-to-table menu influenced by Scandinavian simplicity and local Bay Area produce, often featuring Michelin-level pop-up dinners by world-class chefs, including Chef Christopher Haatuft of Norway’s Lysverket. Visitors describe lounge and café service by day with coffee, pastries, sandwiches, free tea service, and evenings with wine specials and DJ music sets, creating a sensory-rich blend of culinary, wellness, and nightlife programming. Lighting transitions from daylight streaming through arched windows over the water to ambient, dramatic evening lighting paired with curated sound and music that shape the mood for each event. Getting there, the Ferry Building is served by multiple Muni streetcar lines and regional BART and Caltrain connections at nearby Embarcadero Station, walking just a few minutes. For drivers, there is paid parking across the street from the Ferry Building, though Shack15 itself doesn’t offer onsite parking or bike storage. Taxis, rideshares, and transit are generally the most convenient options.
