Berggruen Gallery seeks a full-time Marketing Associate with at least 2-3 years of dedicated experience, ideally in a leading gallery, auction house, artist studio, or museum.

This role is essential for maintaining and communicating the gallery's presence to the public. The Marketing Associate will shape and steward the gallery’s voice across all platforms, guiding strategy and cultivating meaningful engagement with collectors, institutions, and the broader cultural community.


Core Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead weekly marketing meetings, establishing priorities and tracking key performance metrics to inform strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar, executing considered, multi-channel campaigns across email and digital platforms.
  • Expand and refine the gallery’s presence across social media, including Instagram, Meta, LinkedIn, and Eventbrite.
  • Produce and oversee written and visual content, including press releases, artist bios, and other gallery content, ensuring a cohesive and compelling narrative across all communications.
  • Manage print and digital advertising placements with an emphasis on quality and strategic visibility.
  • Oversee the gallery website in collaboration with Directors, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and an elevated user experience. Monitor and report on website Google analytics to optimize traffic. 
  • Maintain rigorous brand consistency; edit and refine all outward-facing materials to uphold the gallery’s voice and standards.
  • Manage online sales platforms, including 1stDibs and Artnet.
  • Responsible for digital database and image management.
  • Maintain gallery voicemail messaging to reflect current programming and hours.

Exhibitions & Art Fair Marketing

  • Steward exhibition, art fair, publications, and marketing calendars, aligning programming with key moments in the local and national art calendar.
  • Support the preparation of exhibition materials and track critical timelines.
  • Coordinate installation photography to ensure timely and high-quality documentation.

Announcement Cards & Campaigns

  • Lead the development of printed announcement cards, from image selection and copywriting to production and distribution.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, Directors, designers, and vendors to ensure exceptional execution.
  • Oversee print production, including color proofing and mailing logistics.
  • Develop corresponding digital assets for the website in Photoshop and InDesign

Press & Outreach

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant press; manage targeted distribution of press materials.
  • Collaborate with Directors on tailored marketing strategies for exhibitions and art fairs, including email campaigns, social media, and collector outreach.
  • Maintain accurate and timely listings across key platforms, including Artsy, Artforum, ADAA, SFADA, Artnet, and others.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and communications within the arts.
  • Fluency with Artlogic, Private Views, and related digital platforms preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial judgment, with a strong sensitivity to tone and audience.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities with discretion and precision.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
