Position Overview
Perez Morris is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Attorney to join our Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical and legal issues, strong research and writing skills, and experience assisting with cases from initial filing through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Experienced trial lawyer with regular appearances in court conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Skilled in all aspects of litigation strategy from drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery motions and discovery demands, preparing motions, to negotiating settlements and preparing witnesses for trial.
- Serve as the primary contact for corporate clients and insurers, providing regular updates, case assessments, and litigation plans.
- Independently manage an assigned caseload and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of legal practice.
- Provide strategic counsel and legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.
Qualifications
- Associate with 2–4 years of experience handling the defense of medical malpractice or personal injury litigation.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure cases and manage complex litigation matters.
- Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management.
- Values collaboration and diverse perspectives and can work with a team to creatively solve problems.
- Willingness to be a productive member of a team.
