Perennial Environmental Services, LLC (Perennial), a rapidly growing environmental consulting firm, is seeking a motivated and team-oriented GIS Analyst to join our Houston office full-time. The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing GIS data to support internal activities at Perennial and distributing data externally as needed. This role involves ensuring data quality, supporting web applications, and developing process automation to improve efficiency.
Essential Functions and Duties
Data Management
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geographic information provided by geodetic surveys, aerial photographs, and satellite data.
- Maintain metadata and ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across layers and services.
- Prepare GIS data to fulfill requests made by consultants, internal staff, and the public. Presenting project results to clients, stakeholders
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology and GIS-related trends
Application Support
- Troubleshoot and optimize published services in ArcGIS Online.
- Develop, maintain, and support interactive web map applications.
Process Automation
- Automate workflows using Python, ArcPy, ModelBuilder, and the ArcGIS REST API.
- Streamline repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
Data Analysis
- Perform spatial analyses to support internal projects and decision-making.
- Assist with departmental projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Additional Expectations

- Perform other duties as required to support the team and organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Studies or Urban Planning, and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Esri’s GIS software including ArcGIS Pro, Phyton, ArcToolbox and/or ArcMap.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Can work independently with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- GISP Certification
- Portfolio submitted with application
