Perennial Environmental Services, LLC (Perennial), a rapidly growing environmental consulting firm, is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Mid-Level Environmental Specialist to join our team full-time. We are working to build our Gulf Coast Expansion team and are looking to hire immediately. As a Mid-Level Environmental Specialist, you will play a crucial role assisting with data analysis and preparation of technical reports, environmental permit applications, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation. This position offers valuable practical experience in environmental permitting and compliance. Occasional travel (less than 10%) may be required based on project needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating directly with various federal, state, and local agencies.
- Preparation and editorial review of various technical environmental reports and environmental permit applications.
- Directly involvement in consultations with our clients as well as federal, state, and local environmental agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Botany, Wildlife Management or Biology, Forestry, Ecology, or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act and other federal environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience coordinating with agencies responsible for issuing environmental permits and clearances (e.g., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources, etc.)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal/state regulatory compliance to include 2 years of direct project management experience involving one or more of the following (preferably on energy sector projects) is required: National Environmental Policy Act compliance; Clean Water Act permitting and compliance; Conducting informal and formal consultations under the Endangered Species Act; and Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act compliance.
