What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Controls Specialist | Own the forecast, not just the dates. position at Per Se Group Inc?
If you know your way around P6 but don’t want to spend your next assignment simply updating dates, this one gives you a bigger seat at the table.
You’ll own both sides of project controls, schedule and cost, supporting strategic construction work from development through final closeout. It’s a long-term, 40-hour/week assignment currently scheduled through October 2027, paying $60–$70/hour.
What you’ll do: Build, maintain, and analyze detailed P6 schedules tied to real construction progress. Track costs, forecasts, accruals, cash flow, risks, and pending change orders. Review contractor schedules and validate that reported progress matches what’s actually happening. Use resource-loaded schedules and earned value to spot problems early, not explain them after the fact. You’ll also work directly with project teams, finance, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep cost and schedule data honest.
When performance starts moving the wrong direction, you’ll be expected to see it, explain it, and help the team find a way forward.
What you get: $60–$70/hour, 40 hours per week, and an assignment with runway through October 31, 2027. You’ll have broader ownership than a traditional scheduler role, with hands-on exposure to forecasting, commercial terms, change orders, EVM, and construction execution.
Who you are: You’re the person who can open a P6 schedule and tell whether the story behind it makes sense. You’ve worked hands-on with major construction schedules, understand resource loading and progress measurement, and you’re equally comfortable digging into the cost side of a project. You don’t just report bad news—you identify what’s driving it and give the project team something useful to do about it.
