Electrical Coordinator
Location: Henry, IL (initial remote, transitioning onsite)

Our client, Vestolit (an Orbia company), is a global leader in PVC and specialty materials manufacturing, supporting critical industries including construction, infrastructure, and industrial applications. This role supports a major electrical upgrade project within a high-compliance industrial facility, offering exposure to large-scale capital project execution.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Coordinator to support a critical plant upgrade project. This role will begin part-time remotely and transition to full-time onsite in Henry, IL.
The Electrical Coordinator will act as an Owner’s Representative in the field, overseeing electrical construction, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supporting testing, commissioning, and project closeout. This individual will play a key role in driving safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution of all electrical activities.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Enforce electrical safety standards including LOTO, arc flash boundaries, grounding, and energized work restrictions
- Conduct field audits, verify PPE compliance, and ensure electrical hazards are addressed in JHAs
- Identify and escalate unsafe conditions or non-conforming work practices
Electrical Construction Oversight
- Oversee installation of MV and LV systems including switchgear, MCCs, relays, feeders, lighting, and grounding systems
- Monitor cable tray, conduit installation, and field cable pulling activities
- Ensure all installations align with approved engineering drawings and specifications
Engineering & Code Compliance
- Verify compliance with NEC/IEC codes and project standards
- Review single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and installation details
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for field deviations
QA/QC & Field Verification
- Perform field walkdowns to ensure quality and completeness of installations
- Track and manage punch list items to completion
- Confirm readiness of systems prior to commissioning
RFI & Technical Coordination
- Manage and track RFIs, coordinating between engineering, contractors, and document control
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to maintain project schedule
Material & Equipment Coordination
- Verify delivery, inspection, and condition of electrical materials and equipment
- Ensure proper storage and handling of critical equipment (MV gear, relays, ATS systems)
- Report and resolve material discrepancies
Testing, Commissioning & Startup Support
- Oversee electrical testing including insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, relay testing, and ATS functionality
- Support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and system energization readiness
- Ensure all testing and documentation are complete prior to handover
Documentation & Reporting
- Provide daily and weekly reports on progress, risks, and schedule impacts
- Maintain redlines and ensure accurate as-built documentation
- Support development of final electrical turnover packages
Project Coordination & Scheduling
- Coordinate with contractors and cross-functional teams to align construction sequencing and milestones
- Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Support overall project execution and delivery
Qualifications
- 10 years of electrical experience in industrial environments (chemical, refinery, power, or heavy industrial)
- Strong background in electrical construction, field coordination, and QA/QC
- Experience with medium- and low-voltage systems, including switchgear and MCCs
- Proven experience supporting testing, commissioning, and startup activities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of NEC/IEC codes and electrical safety standards
- Experience managing RFIs, field changes, and as-built documentation
- Strong communication and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Owner’s Rep, Electrical Coordinator, or Electrical Superintendent role
- Experience supporting capital projects or plant upgrades
- Familiarity with PSSR and project turnover processes
