The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions across multiple business lines, including supply company, single-family home remodeling projects and division, as well as select financial activities. This role provides all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, supporting the overall financial health of the business.

Position will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable to facilitate smooth financial operations. By performing detailed job costing and accruals, the role contributes to precise financial reporting and budgeting processes. Collaboration with other team members and different departments is essential to maintain efficient workflows and uphold compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Business Accounting (Supply Company)
- Verify invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Manage accounts payable, including tracking outstanding balances and preparing payment schedules.
- Manage accounts receivable including application of incoming payments from customers.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Reconcile various accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with accruals and month-end closing activities to support financial reporting.
- Monitor and track inventory management.
Business Accounting (Single Family Homes)
- Maintain financial records for single-family home properties, including expenses, sales data, and capital improvements.
- Track property-level performance (income, operating costs, profitability)
- Manage accounts payable and receivable related to properties (vendors, contractors, tenants).
- Monitor budgets for each property, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
- Track and capitalize assets, including improvements and depreciation schedules.
- Work with acquisition and single-family home team to review purchase, acquisitions, expenses and control costs.
- Prepare financial documentation for property acquisitions or sales.
- Support loan reporting requirements and lender compliance.
- Assist with year-end reporting and tax preparation related to real estate holdings.
Qualifications
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
- Experience in inventory-based supply/distribution business
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience (small business experience preferred)
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proven experience in bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and journal entry preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
