What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at PEPL?
PEPL has been engaged to place a Cost Accountant for a growing manufacturing facility in Social Circle, GA. The Accountant will analyze accounting and operational data to prepare accurate financial and manufacturing reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIE
- Assist in developing, maintaining and analyzing standard costs
- Work closely with sales to ensure appropriate cost data is available for quoting and other pricing decisions as needed
- Part of cross functional team to improve costing process while implementing improvements in the process
- Develops, analyzes and distributes pertinent manufacturing data including gross margin, yield reporting and aged inventory reporting, among others
- Maintains accurate sales information by updating gross margin report monthly
- Assist in decision making to resolve problems in manufacturing area based on analytical data
- Prepare month end journal entries related to COGS, E&O, PPV and other manufacturing related financial accounts. Prepare month end reconciliations for these and any other manufacturing balance sheet account
- Calculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalization schedule and monthly obsolescence analysis while reviewing with Controller/CFO
- Provide analysis of COGS accounts on a monthly basis
- Support external audit and mid-year review process while also assisting as needed with internal audit queries
- Responsible for cycle count process and related inventory adjustments
- Special analyses and projects as needed
- Assist with GL accounting; including AR posting, collections, bank reconciliations, and other duties as assigned
- Maintaining and monitoring product costing, including establishing standard cost systems
- Integrating ERP systems to provide accurate financial reporting related to cost and financial analysis
- Communicating within cross functional teams and with other departments to improve costing and accounting system
- Coordinating daily, weekly and monthly accounting procedures
- Performing financial analysis
- Determining process improvement opportunities
- Assisting with the development of business plans, budgets and forecast
- Overseeing capital expenditure budgets
- Completing and assisting with month end journal entries as needed
- Extracting data from the ERP system and manipulating the information into MS Excel formal
- Other duties assignment by management
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years’ experience in related capacity
- Accounting experience as it relates to recording entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts as well as calculating/analyzing manufacturing variances
- Strong MS Office skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Cross cultural communications skills and experience is highly desirable
- English and Mandarin bilingual is a plus
