What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist position at PEPL?
PEPL has been engaged to place a Chemist for a growing manufacturing company located in Social Circle, GA. The Chemist will develop formulas to meet customers’ needs accurately and scale up production successfully.
RESPONISIBILITIES
- Work harmoniously with Sales and/or Marketing on current product line support efforts as well as in the development of new products to meet customers’ needs in a timely, cost-effective fashion.
- Actively participate in invention and development of innovative formulations for new and/or existing applications and sharing among peers.
- Implement and effectively manage the documentation and retrieval system of product development efforts as they relate to internal and external development efforts.
- Collaborate with machinery specialist in optimizing formula development.
- Utilize lab equipment to do formula test and analysis.
- Manage, conduct, and report on research on variety of raw materials/ingredients, pertaining to the company (existing, new, or possible).
- Participating in and support process improvements.
- Provide support on formulation transfer, compounding, and quality control of TPS and TPV to the Production and QC efforts of the organization.
- Offer technical support for existing and new products and to assist in resolution of problems identified by Operations.
- Coordinate and manage outside application testing and sample preparation to supplement in-house R&D efforts.
- Other tasks assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a master’s degree in Polymer-related fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related capacity. TPE experiences are a plus.
- Familiar with twin-screw compounding and injection molding. Hands-on experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead in the implementation of excellence for TPE compounds.
- Ability and desire to design and execute experimental programs on lab scale and pilot scale.
- Exceptional working knowledge and experience of laboratory sample preparation equipment and characterization testing.
- Excellent communications skills to convey technical and scientific content orally and in formal research reports.
- Cross cultural communications skills and experience are highly desirable.
- Strong MS Office skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent English, and Mandarin is a plus
