What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tennis Instructor position at Peoria Park District?
DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Athletics & Recreation Services and the Sports Coordinator, the Tennis Instructor is responsible for the following:
- Understand, interpret and maintain the Peoria Park District and Athletic Department’s standards and policies.
- Responsible for teaching and instructing tennis lessons to children and adults.
- Inventory equipment and make sure the environment is clean and safe for the participants.
Other: This position will work at multiple tennis sites throughout Peoria: Bradley Park, Sommer Park North and Cassidy Park.
Qualifications:Experience Individual must be 15 years or older with preference given to an individual with training and tennis playing experience.
Knowledge and Ability
- Desire and ability to work with children.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Possess the ability to lead others in group and individual activities, demonstrating necessary steps and skills.
- The position requires effective communication with staff and program participants as well as the ability to respond effectively and quickly in varying situations.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers
