Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager to oversee our catering operations and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in outside sales, account management, and business development within the catering or hospitality industry. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, customer service expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring client satisfaction. The Catering Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and leading a team to deliver high-quality catering services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business growth in the catering sector.
- Manage all aspects of catering operations, including menu planning, event coordination, and logistics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective account management and customer service.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and lead generation strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials that enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.
- Utilize CRM software to track leads, manage customer interactions, and analyze sales performance.
- Provide product demos and presentations to potential clients to showcase our catering offerings.
- Negotiate contracts with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements while maximizing profitability.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in sales management, customer service, and upselling techniques.
- Monitor industry trends to stay competitive in the market and adapt strategies accordingly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or territory management within the catering or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong management skills with a focus on team leadership and development.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce experience is a plus) for managing client relationships and sales data.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
- Experience in direct sales, inside sales, or retail sales is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct cold calling efforts for lead generation while maintaining professionalism.
