We are hiring a Certification Engineer for a full-time onsite aerospace role in Everett, WA.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in embedded software certification and verification, with deep working knowledge of DO-178B/C and aerospace certification processes. This role requires practical experience preparing and reviewing certification artifacts, supporting audits, and working with certification authorities and representatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and support embedded software certification documentation.
- Work with DO-178B/C software certification processes across planning, development, verification, and compliance activities.
- Support certification artifacts such as PSAC, SDP, SVP, SAS, HLR, LLR, SCI, SCMP, and SVMP.
- Participate in SOI1 through SOI4 audit support and certification reviews.
- Support activities involving DERs and certification stakeholders.
- Review embedded software for certification concerns including object code, dead code, deactivated code, memory usage, watchdog timers, partitioning, and software/hardware interactions.
- Support software verification and testing activities including unit testing, HW/SW testing, SW/SW testing, structural coverage analysis, test procedures, test plans, and worst-case analysis.
- Contribute to FAA/EASA certification and compliance activities for aerospace software systems.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with DO-178B/C.
- Experience with embedded software certification in the aerospace domain.
- Hands-on certification document preparation and review experience.
- Experience with certification artifacts including PSAC, SDP, SVP, SAS, HLR, LLR, SCI, SCMP, and SVMP.
- Experience supporting SOI1-SOI4 audits.
- Experience supporting DERs or certification representatives.
- FAA and/or EASA certification experience.
- Strong embedded software testing or verification background.
- Ability to work onsite in Everett, WA.
- Full-time availability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with avionics software, safety-critical embedded systems, or flight software.
- Experience with structural coverage analysis and certification evidence packages.
- Experience with software/hardware partitioning, object code analysis, dead/deactivated code, static/dynamic memory, and watchdog timer analysis.
- Prior aerospace OEM, Tier 1, avionics, or defense supplier experience.
