Seasonal Merchandiser

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is in partnership with a prominent client in Commack, NY, within the retail industry. Merchandiser Job Summary: $21/hrAverage 30 hours a weekMerchandisers are responsible for product appearance and supply in various stores throughout their designated geographic area. By working closely with both suppliers and manufacturers, they make certain that the promotion of specific products and services will increase sales over a period of timeDaily travel to retail accounts of 1-2 hours.There’s no guaranteed number of hours, but on average, 30 hours a week. Each reset takes 2-3 hours, and there are typically 2 assigned each day. The two resets and travel time between them could be anywhere from 5-8 hours each day. Performs merchandising and display activities in retail accounts as requested or directedEnsures maximum space allocation in merchandisable accountsParticipates in the development of retail accounts through display serviceIntroduces and installs new promotional materials to maintain display floor space in retail accountsDelivers product merchandise when requiredPerforms merchandising warehouse duties as neededAdvises the Sales Manager and assigned Sales Representative of service problems encounteredUnderstands the safety rules and requirements in the workplaceImmediately report to the Warehouse Operations Manager any safety related incident, injury, or illnessImmediately reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager any unsafe work condition or safety hazardEncourages others to follow the safety rules and requirements in the workplaceMay involve evening or weekend scheduling for special sales promotionsPerform other duties as assignedMerchandiser Qualifications:Reliable transportation with a Valid state motor vehicle operator's licenseAbility to walk, carry, stand, stoop, bend and kneel for extended periods.Ability to lift 30-50lbsAbility to work in cold environments.Ability to read and follow planograms for retail merchandising.Attention to Detail with Strong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEffective time management and schedulingAbility to work under pressure. Basic math necessary to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentagesAbility to obtain and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state lawsProblem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and communication.Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.Why Peoplelink?
