What are the responsibilities and job description for the BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN position at PeopleInc?
Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00
Shift: Monday-Friday days
Instruction and supervision of person served in all aspects associated with day and/or residential programming, including but not limited to adjustment counseling, coping and functional skill building, functional activities and community outings. Ensure the health, safety and well-being of the people we support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with development and implementation of staff training, behavior plans, and crisis intervention as assigned by the behavior specialist, support management specialist or site management.
• Respects and maintains the confidentiality of the person served. Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude towards person served, families and staff.
• Plans, coordinates and implements meaningful activities daily in areas of daily living and personal care needs as well as person centered activities that promote independence, inclusion and productivity.
• Ensure all individuals’ service plans are followed.
• Completes all tasks necessary to ensure health and safety of each person receiving services.
• Administers medication following proper procedures.
• Safely transports people following proper procedures.
• Performs daily site cleaning, food preparation and laundry as needed.
• Completes daily documentation and other paperwork OPWDD and agency standards promptly and accurately as applicable.
• Attends/participates in general staff meetings, in-service training and other pertinent agency meetings/trainings.
• Keeps in compliance with required agency/OPWDD trainings.
• Flexibility to work assignments as needed at the agency within shift and/or other availability.
• Administers medications and follows proper procedures as required.
• Specific work functions and hours worked may vary from specific departments and locations.
• Completes all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License that meets agency policy.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
• Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.
• Ability to read and comprehend plans and documentation.
• Basic computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals manually and mechanically as required by prescribed program/plan.
• Ability to move, reposition, and place individuals in pieces of equipment.
• Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention certification as per regulatory guidelines.
• CPR certification required.
• Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
