Shipping & Receiving Customer Service Clerk
We are currently seeking a dependable and customer-focused Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage the front shipping/receiving window in a busy warehouse environment. This position serves as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, vendors, and warehouse personnel and requires someone who can provide excellent customer service while keeping shipping and receiving activity organized and moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, comfortable working on a computer, and able to communicate professionally in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Shipping & Receiving front window and assist incoming drivers, customers, and vendors
- Provide professional and courteous customer service in person and by phone
- Check drivers in and out and communicate loading/unloading instructions
- Process shipping and receiving paperwork accurately
- Enter shipment, order, and receiving information into computer systems
- Verify paperwork for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding inbound and outbound shipments
- Maintain organized records, documents, and shipping paperwork
- Answer questions regarding shipment status, dock assignments, and related information
- Handle multiple drivers, requests, and priorities during high-volume periods
- Communicate delays, issues, or special instructions to the appropriate team members
- Maintain a professional and organized front-window/workstation area
Qualifications
- Previous shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse office, or customer service experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable using computers, email, and data-entry systems
- Ability to accurately enter and verify information
- Able to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Professional when dealing with drivers, customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to remain calm and organized when handling multiple requests at once
