About the Role:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a welcoming environment within residential or commercial properties. This position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standards, contributing to the overall comfort and satisfaction of residents, guests, or clients. The Housekeeper is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces, while also managing laundry and restocking supplies as needed. Attention to detail and adherence to health and safety guidelines are essential to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports the smooth operation of the facility by creating a clean, safe, and pleasant atmosphere for all occupants.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning services is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, safety guidelines, and cleaning procedures.
• Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills to interact professionally with supervisors and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in housekeeping or hospitality services.
• Experience working in hotel, healthcare, or large residential settings.
• Knowledge of environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor polishers or carpet cleaners.
• Multilingual skills to assist diverse client populations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and other designated spaces according to established standards.
• Change bed linens, launder towels, and replenish room supplies such as toiletries and beverages.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals in compliance with safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and inventory of supplies to support operational efficiency.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Housekeeper to efficiently execute cleaning tasks while maintaining safety and quality standards. Attention to detail ensures that no area is overlooked, contributing to a consistently clean environment. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential for handling equipment and performing repetitive motions throughout the workday. Communication skills facilitate clear reporting of issues and coordination with team members to optimize workflow.
