We are currently seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join a growing healthcare team in Modesto, California. This is a 13-week contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and surgical instrument processing.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, SOPs, and company work instructions.
- Operate washer disinfectors, sterilizers, and other processing equipment.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.
- Document missing or damaged instruments according to established procedures.
- Maintain sterilization records, instrument tracking, and inventory documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of processing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality standards.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of recent Sterile Processing experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST, CIS, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization processes.
- Experience with autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and instrument tracking systems.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Schedule
- Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM β 11:30 PM)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
