The Senior Air Export Coordinator is responsible for handling all aspects of air export shipments from booking and documentation to carrier coordination, compliance, and customer communication. This role requires strong technical knowledge of air export procedures, government regulations, and airline requirements, as well as the ability to mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage start-to-finish air export operations, including quoting, booking, routing, documentation, and billing
- Prepare and process export documentation such as MAWBs, HAWBs, AES filings, commercial invoices, and packing lists
- Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, truckers, and warehouse teams to ensure on-time departures and cargo accuracy
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment status, requirements, and exceptions
- Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, U.S. Customs, and other regulatory guidelines
- Handle DG (Dangerous Goods) shipments when required, ensuring proper documentation and packaging compliance
- Oversee shipment tracking, troubleshoot delays, and resolve escalations
- Collaborate with internal departments on operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records in TMS/operational software
- Provide guidance and support to junior coordinators and assist with training as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and customers
Qualifications
- 10 years of air export experience with an international freight forwarder (required)
- In-depth knowledge of air export regulations, documentation, and cargo handling
- Experience with AES/ACE filing, MAWB/HAWB creation, and airline booking platforms
- Strong understanding of TSA Known Shipper rules and IAC compliance
- DG certification preferred (or willingness to recertify)
- Proficiency with common freight forwarding TMS platforms (CargoWise, Magaya, etc.)
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
