Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import and export shipments from origin through to final delivery.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs clearance paperwork.
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, trucking companies, and warehouse providers.
- Monitor shipment progress, track milestones, and proactively resolve delays or operational issues.
- Arrange bookings, collections, deliveries, and other transportation requirements.
- Communicate regularly with customers, providing shipment updates and responding to queries.
- Ensure all shipments comply with relevant customs regulations and international shipping requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal freight forwarding systems.
- Assist with quotations, invoicing, and shipment cost control where required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and international partners.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an import/export coordination role within an international freight forwarding company.
- Knowledge of international air and ocean freight operations.
- Understanding of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and import/export regulations.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
