Janitor

Job Summary
The Janitorial Clerk plays a key role in keeping our plant clean and safe. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all common areas, restrooms, kitchens, and outdoor spaces. By following the SQF Food Safety Code, the Janitorial Clerk helps ensure that our cleaning practices meet food safety standards, preventing contamination and maintaining a hygienic environment. You’ll be tasked with regular cleaning duties, managing supplies, and helping keep the workplace organized and safe for everyone. This role is vital in supporting a healthy, productive environment for all employees and visitors.

Monday - Friday

7:30AM - 3:30PM

Pay Rate: $20.00

Responsibilities

● Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming

● Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies

● Empty trash and recycling bins, replace trash can liners as needed.

● Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and break rooms

this includes, tabletops, chairs, counters, microwaves, refrigerators, trash cans.

● Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors

● Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines as per GMP training.

● Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor

● Document and promptly report all safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or department to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

● Follow all safety procedures and policies, maintaining a safe and clean work environment at all times.

● Other duties as assigned.

Experience

● Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred

● Knowledge of facilities maintenance and cleaning techniques

● Ability to operate, care for, and keep track of replacement inventory of cleaning equipment

● Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness

● Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required

● Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks within given timeframes

● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

● Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors

Physical Requirements

● Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for up to 8 hours.

● Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly/occasionally and up to 50 pounds with assistance.

● Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, or reach overhead as needed.

● Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.

● Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to operate tools, equipment, or machinery.

● Visual acuity to read, operate equipment, or monitor surroundings.

● Hearing ability to understand instructions and respond to safety signals in a noisy environment.

● Ability to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and outdoor/indoor environments.

● Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.

● Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain

● Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods, including masks, gloves, or safety glasses.

● Ability to perform repetitive motions, including [e.g., typing, or operating tools
