What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager position at People 1st Health and Residential Services?
People 1st Health & Residential Services is a community based group home provider of residential and health care services for adults with developmental disabilities. We have two homes in the Chester Area. We are seeking a Program Manger who is passionate about making a difference and improving the quality of life for adults within our Residential/Private Duty nursing community.
Individuals' Support
1. Act as a liaison, advocate and coordinator for individuals receiving services involvement in support groups, self advocacy, vocational programming, transportation services, integrated community activities, recreation and learn ing independent living skills.
2. Foster open and supportive communication with individuals receiving services, families, guardians, regulatory agencies and other community organizations and agencies.
3. Oversee all individuals receiving services medical, medication and health issues.
4. Provide and ensure communication of medical and health issues to staff, nurses, families, guardians etc.
5. Implement and follow-up on all support services recommendations
SUPERVISION/TRAINING
6. Monitor staff performance management, including evaluations and developmental plans, disciplinary actions, etc., fro all program staff as scheduled
7. Supervise staff training and development through teaching, acting as a role model and guiding staff on how to appropriately work with and interact with individuals receiving services, other staff, families, and guardians.
8. Present and implement all agency policies and procedures.
9. In conjunction with the Director, interview and hire staff.
10. Inform supervisor as needed about pertinent issues.
11. Develop staff monthly schedules
12. Ensure maintenance of the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services licensing Standards
MEETINGS/FUNCTIONS
13. Conduct staff meetings; ensure dissemination of all information to staff and others
14. Attend as needed all consumer related meetings(ISP, IDT, case manager, family, etc); ensure all necessary follow-up is completed
15. Participate in special projects and committes
REPORTS/PAPERWORK
16. Ensure completion/submission of all required daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as scheduled.
17. Routinely review all individual's charts, file paperwork, maintain and accurate and organized filing system
FINANCE
18. Effective manage allowable staffing hours
19. Timely processing of payroll
20. Coordinate all aspects of consumer financial procedures in accordance with agency and Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services policies. Assure the proper and prudent expenditures of all funds.
MAINTENANCE
21. Overseemaintenanceof the physical plant and vehicles to include cleanliness, decor, safety issues, emergency situations; practice preventative maintenance; ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
22. The employee agrees to cooperate with Agency and DBHDS staff during any inspection or investigation.
23. Perform additional duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree and two years of group home experience is preferred
- Upon hire he/she must satisfactorily complete all training required by the County of Chesterfield and the State of Virginia
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Must be willing to drive a handicap accessible van with applicable training
- Must be willing to be on call and accessible to staff 24hrs/7days/week
- Complete and pass a background check
- Have a negative tuberculosis screening
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
