Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Product Sustaining & Redesign
Location: columbus IN
Duration: Long Term
Key Responsibilities
- Own the redesign of an existing product from obsolete component identification through production implementation.
- Serve as the technical lead coordinating engineering, quality, testing, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternate electrical components based on existing specifications and circuit function.
- Assess PCB, schematic, firmware, or software changes required to support new components.
- Develop and propose qualification plans and testing strategies.
- Perform and oversee electrical and environmental testing in compliance with safety protocols.
- Analyze and communicate test results, risks, and recommendations.
- Define cutover strategies including alpha, beta, and gamma production plans.
- Partner with operations to update BOMs and support manufacturing implementation.
- Gather feedback from production plants and support early production runs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10 years of electrical engineering experience
- Proven leadership of redesign or sustaining engineering projects
Technical Skills
- Strong schematic and PCB comprehension
- Hands-on lab and test equipment experience
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power meters, humidity chambers, and soldering
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
