Sr Automation Engineer-Milwaukee Tool
This contractor will be working in the group that focuses on the automation of testing equipment, supporting the internal service team. This group makes sure tools are tested accurately and consistently before they’re returned to customers. This role is centered around improving how testing is done-everything from selecting the right sensors (including safety sensors) to building automation that connects PLCs with databases to capture and track test data. You’ll also play a part in evaluating how operators and technicians interact with the equipment, ensuring the data being collected is meaningful and helps drive better repair quality and consistency across the service process.
Skillset:
• Experience selecting and integrating sensors, including safety sensors, for automated test systems
• Strong background in electrical panel design (majority of the role)
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical for schematic creation and system design (will look at AutoCAD electrical too)
• Ability to perform component selection and design panels that technicians can build and wire from drawings
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electrical systems and automated equipment
• Exposure to PLC programming (Siemens preferred) or willingness to learn
• Experience configuring or modifying code to support automated testing processes
• Familiarity with LabVIEW is a strong plus
• Ability to help build test systems from scratch, including design, build, and validation
