Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automotive wire harnesses and electrical wiring systems.
- Create and review 2D/3D wiring harness drawings and electrical schematics.
- Perform harness routing, packaging, clearance, and installation studies.
- Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, fuses, clips, brackets, and protective coverings.
- Work with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier engineering teams.
- Support design changes, engineering releases, and issue resolution.
- Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, prototype builds, and vehicle launches.
- Troubleshoot wiring and electrical integration issues.
- Ensure designs meet automotive quality, safety, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.
- Support suppliers and manufacturing teams during development and production launch.
Required Skills:
- 3 years of automotive engineering experience.
- Strong wire harness / electrical wiring experience.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, grounding, circuit protection, and wire sizing.
- Experience with harness routing and electrical packaging.
- 3D CAD experience such as Siemens NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
- Understanding of automotive electrical systems and vehicle architecture.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
