PentaHealth / Tandigm Physician Services, a leading physician-owned practice with nine locations across Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia Counties, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Patient Care Representative/Front Desk to join our float team among several locations in Exton, West Chester, and Downingtown. We are a thriving organization of 260 employees dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare.
About the Role:
You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient front office operations and facilitating effective communication between patients and staff.
- Performs selected clerical and administrative duties and assists physicians as part of the care team
- Welcomes incoming patients in a pleasant, professional manner.
- Verifies and confirms patient’s appointment.
- Verifies and updates patient demographic information on the computer at each visit as needed.
- Collects insurance co-payments, non-covered services, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
- Books, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments.
- Maintains orderly, efficient, and timely flow of patients.
- Completes all required information on insurance, workman’s compensation, and other inquiry forms, contacting patients when requested forms are finalized.
- Answers patient inquiries in a pleasing, professional manner.
- Answers telephones, transfers calls, takes messages as needed, and delivers to appropriate staff.
- Assists Providers and Office Manager when necessary and/or requested during non-clinical activities.
- Completes insurance referrals for patients as needed, including verifying coverage via the online database.
- Records information on logs, ledgers, and deposits accurately and neatly and copies logs and records as needed
- Prepares for and reports at meetings as required
- Maintains strict confidentiality and treats staff, providers, patients, and visitors with respect.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of physician business office procedures
- Skill in identifying and resolving problems
- Ability to prepare records per instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Proficiency in the operation of a computer and other office equipment
Prior Training, Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Front desk experience in a medical office environment is preferred
- Working knowledge of secretarial procedures, organizational policies & procedures, systems, and office management practices
- Some knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding is preferred

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
