Position: Medical Phone Operator
About the Role:
As a Medical Phone Operator, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient operation of our practice by managing incoming calls and providing essential administrative support. Working collaboratively with two other phone operators, you will contribute to a positive and professional atmosphere for our patients and staff. This position requires excellent multitasking abilities, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of our office.
Responsibilities:
- Professionally and efficiently answer a high volume of incoming telephone calls, directing them appropriately and taking accurate messages.
- Regularly check and process general voicemail messages in a timely manner.
- Perform faxing and scanning duties as needed.
- Assist in monitoring reports as directed.
- Collaborate effectively with the other phone operators to ensure seamless phone coverage and efficient workflow.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Accurately and efficiently message clinical staff using EPIC or demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to learn the EPIC messaging system quickly.
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned based on the needs of the practice.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Depending on schedules a need to cover the front desk may be required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, management, and Providers.
- Proven ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate software and enter data.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology is a plus.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is preferred, but a strong willingness to learn is essential.
Schedule:
Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; rotating walk-in Saturdays 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
(Can pick up additional hours)
Job Type: Part Time
Pay: $18-20/hour
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
