Position: Quality Manager, Pre-Production Operations
Location: Troy, MI
Reports To: Program Manager, Pre-Production Operations
Description:
The Quality Manager position consists of a wide range of tasks and responsibilities relative to the pre-production assembly of automotive components. The position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to our client and internal quality standards. This position is expected to implement quality standards and data measurement practices.
Essential Job Functions:
- Use client software to track build and part issues
- Design, track, and analyze quality output data to establish process capability
- Oversee Pre-Production Operation (PPO) quality inspection standards and train appropriate associates if needed
- Use client software to write up material issues, manage parts, and track change requests
- Sign off on and communicate build site directions for technicians
- Support department with quality metrics
- Navigate 3D data for tooling
- Organize build sequence documentation for technicians
- Verify torque data
- Create inspection sheets and processes
- Inspect all assemblies
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred; some college coursework in related field
- Must have mechanical knowledge
Requires the Following Skills:
- Excellent communication, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, email and written means
- Must be able to multi-task while ensuring follow up and follow through on required tasks
- High degree of organization and ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Intermediate or higher skills with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
