Job Type: Full time, Salary Dependent on Experience
The Yard Worker/Forklift Operator position is responsible for the following duties:
- Perform daily maintenance checklist on forklifts
- Bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, moving materials
- Loading materials for customers and subcontractors using forklift and/or manually loading
- Unloading material from vendors using forklift and/or manually unloading
- Rotate stock first in/first out
- Inventory management- make supervisor aware when stock is running low
- Requires the ability to consistently and often, lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Initial off on load sheets going out of and coming into lumber yard and bringing into the office
- Ability to read load tickets and SKU’s, UPS labels and reports
- Keep the lumber yard free of debris, trash and clutter
- Other misc duties that may arise regarding the yard
Required Credentials and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Forklift experience and forklift certification required
- Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse distribution experience preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior lumber experience preferred
- Must be able to physically lift approximately 50 lbs
- Basic math and analytical skills needed
- Flexible with scheduling
- Background check required
