Summary
Pennsylvania Retina Specialists is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician to support our growing State College location.

This role will be a full-time position that combines both in-clinic patient care and administrative support responsibilities. Team members will work in the State College clinic whenever patients are being seen and will assist with remote pre-registration and administrative support work on days when the clinic is not operating in State College.

Initial onboarding and training for the first several weeks will take place primarily in our Camp Hill office. After training is complete, occasional travel to Camp Hill may still be required for coverage, meetings, training, or operational support.

Our Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians are responsible for:

  • Obtaining patient medical histories
  • Performing visual acuity testing and diagnostic testing
  • Preparing patients for physician examinations and procedures
  • Assisting physicians with procedures and patient flow
  • Supporting remote patient pre-registration and administrative workflows
  • Delivering compassionate, efficient patient care in a fast-paced specialty practice

The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing both clinical and computer-based responsibilities. Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and previous healthcare experience are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Assisting patients to and from exam lanes
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and assist during procedures
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
