Senior Accountant
We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented Senior Accountant to manage our day to day financial operations and ensure the highest standards of reporting accuracy. This role is a blend of oversight and hands on execution, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, with a specific focus on cash management and AP/AR oversight:
· Transactional Oversight: Review and approve daily postings for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Provide essential backup and guidance to the bookkeeper to ensure departmental consistency.
· Cash Management: Prepare daily cash forecasts and track actual expenditures. Review daily bank activity, perform regular bank reconciliations, and oversee all company credit card activity and accounting.
· Payment Operations: Consult with Financial and Operations leadership to prioritize critical payment needs. Prepare a weekly schedule of planned AP payments for management review and execute approved AP checks and ACH payments.
· Month-End & Reporting: Prepare routine journal entries and lead the month-end reconciliation and close processes. Review all financial postings and issue standard month-end reports to the management team.
· Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain the accuracy of the General Ledger, ensuring strict compliance with GAAP and all relevant tax regulations.
· Financial Planning: Support leadership in the development of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
· Strategic Support: Complete special projects and handle additional ad hoc responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA a plus.
Experience 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
Technical Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, data analysis).
Regulatory Deep understanding of GAAP and tax compliance requirements.
Soft Skills Ability to mentor staff, prioritize under deadlines, and communicate clearly with leadership.
