What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health and Safety Specialist - Hazard Analyses and Compliance position at Pennoni?
Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for a Staff Health and Safety Specialist to join our team on a full-time, direct basis and contribute to our EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) operations in the Boston, MA area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate PHAs (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA) at petroleum and chemical facilities.
- Identify process hazards and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead and assist with PSM/RMP Compliance Audits.
- Review P&IDs, safety protocols, operating procedures, etc.
- Prepare clear, actionable reports for clients.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, or a related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience in process safety, EHS, or petroleum operations.
- Strong knowledge of the PSM rule (29 CFR 1910.119) and the RMP rule (40 CFR 68).
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and technical writing skills.
Willingness to travel. - PE, CSP, or CCPS certification a plus.
