We are hiring for an experienced CAD Technician to join our team on a full-time, direct basis as a Utility Designer at our office in Columbia, MD. This person will be expected to contribute primarily to our utility projects by performing critical design & drafting functions; this involves supporting major clients such as BGE and Verizon!

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform design / CAD drafting work to assist with Engineering projects.
- Assist with obtaining relevant field data & measurements.
- Utilize relevant data when creating / adjusting workable construction blueprints.
- Ensure scheduling and productivity objectives are achieved.
- Perform field work on an as-needed basis; this person will be expected to work indoors as well as outdoors.
- Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- 3 years of professional experience working with Design and/or Drafting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology, or a related technical field of study is a plus (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)!
- Experience working on dry utility projects (e.g.: electrical power distribution, etc.)
- Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools, especially AutoCAD; experience with Bentley MicroStation is a plus (but we are willing to train individuals who are willing to learn)!
- Proficiency on standard Microsoft Office software applications.
- Proven ability to utilize technical mathematics.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); proven active-listening skills is a plus!
