EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR
COMPENSATION: PER RTMEA CONTRACT
STARTING SALARY RANGE
$68,300 (Bachelor’s - Step 1) to $84,300 (Master’s - Step 6)
The Rose Tree Media School District seeks a student-centered High School Social Studies Teacher who engages students in the study of history, government, and civic life. The successful candidate designs rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that helps students analyze historical events, evaluate multiple perspectives, and understand their role as informed and responsible citizens. This full-time, contracted position is available for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in history, political science, social studies education, or related field
- Active and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Social Studies (7-12)
- Ability to make historical and civic concepts relevant to students’ lives
- Commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, research, and writing skills
- Skill in facilitating respectful discussion around complex historical and civic issues
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
