SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to audit the accuracy and completeness of ICD-9-CM (ICD-10-CM/) diagnosis, CPT procedural coding, HCPCs level 2 coding, and Evaluation and Management (E/M) assignment. Provide ongoing education to coders, physicians, and other clinical staff. Serve in an advisory and educator role for coding regulatory compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma required.
3 years progressive experience coding in a Clinical Services environment required.
CPC or CCS-P Certification required.
CPMA certification or attainment of CPMA within 12-months of hire required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Must be highly organized and able to work independently after being given management directives.
Strong Written And Oral Communication Skills Required.
Strong computer skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 Years Experience As a Trainer/educator Preferred.
