Job Description
- PURPOSE OF JOB : To perform breast ultrasound procedures to include screening, diagnostic, ultrasound guided biopsy and pre-operative localizations, utilizing clinical skills, knowledge and competencies of the ultrasound technologist position.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain clinical competency in the Ultrasound technologist position requirements.
- Provide patient care for all of our customers by performing breast ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Compile and maintain patient records and schedules
- Deliver completed paperwork to the radiologist for interpretation
- QUALIFICATIONS :
- To be hired into the Ultrasound section, a technologist must be registered or board eligible. Board eligible means that a technologist must have graduated from an AMA approved, one-year minimum program and sitting for the next board. In order to pass the Boards, a technologist must pass two different sections (physics and one other specialty).
- Experience: Prior breast ultrasound experience is preferred. Must become breast certified within one year of hire.
- Other Skills: Good communication and customer service skills.
