Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS :
- PURPOSE OF JOB : To assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom and to provide quality care for the children.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development through assisting in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the recommended standards to ensure health, safety, and nutrition.
- Assist in creating a learning environment based on children's needs, interests, and abilities and one that is reflective of the children's families and culture.
- Partner with families and use effective communication and assist in making smooth transitions from home to the classroom and demonstrate professional practices in all aspects of work.
- Use various techniques to observe children and record observations to share with co-teachers and teachers.
- Complete professional plan annually with supervisor and maintain credentialing required by Keystone Stars, NAEYC, and DPW.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 2 years working with young chidlren (can include babysitting or other childcare facilities) required.
