Summary: The Solutions Specialist's role is to preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Contacts delinquent account holders by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring accounts current, analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful. Maintains accurate files and reports on all collection activity. Cleans, maintains, and inspects any and all repossessed collateral, including autos and homes. Testifies at legal proceedings as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned including BSA requirements.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - One to three years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills - Ability to operate general office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, scanners, and possess computer keyboard skills. Knowledgeable with creating, maintaining, and updating Excel spreadsheets. Must have good communication and team-work skills.
Availability - Must be available to work from 7:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays and have a flexible schedule. May be required to work at other branches and have the ability to travel to those branches.
