Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in the upkeep, direction, and coordination of daily operations within the Credit Union. This role ensures the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth objectives. The Assistant Branch Manager assists in implementing policies, procedures, and systems related to cashiering operations and member services, while maintaining a high standard of delivery service to members.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Provides prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance to members regarding their financial needs. Opens and closes a wide range of account types, including special share accounts, certificates, IRAs, HSAs, money market accounts and loans. Issues instant‑issue debit and credit cards and supports members with PIN selection. Troubleshoots and resolves member inquiries and internal questions, serving as a liaison between members and other departments to ensure accurate and timely resolution. Oversees branch operations to ensure strict adherence to security protocols and promptly identifies and resolves any operational or compliance deficiencies. Coordinates vendor and service provider activities, including scheduling maintenance and service appointments, to ensure optimal facility and equipment performance.

Knowledge And Skills

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills Must be accurate with numbers, managing files and records, and other loan office procedures and terminology. Must have good communication and presentation skills and have the ability to operate general office equipment such as calculators, computers, copiers, scanners, and computer keyboard skills required. Maintain confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and all work-related information. Have a general understanding of Credit Union operations.

Physical Requirements Sedentary work: must be able to sit for long periods of time in a day (up to 9 hours), possess hand, wrist, and finger dexterity to use keyboards, phones, and calculator in a repetitive manner and the ability to view a computer monitor throughout your scheduled time.

Work environment Must be available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday. May be required to work at other branches and have the ability to travel to and from those branches.
