Position: Security Specialist
Clearance: Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance is required and current within the last five years
Work Location: Wright Patterson AFB, OH
Work Hours: Monday through Friday onsite (Regular Full-time)

Position Summary
As a Security Specialist (Generalist), supports a DoD customer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, providing multi-disciplinary security support across classification management, program security operations, and compliance activities. This role executes and coordinates security functions across personnel, physical, information, and industrial security disciplines, with a primary focus on classification guidance, documentation, and program support.
Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support development, coordination, and maintenance of Security Classification Guides (SCGs) for collateral and SAP programs
- Process SCG updates and coordinate with subject matter experts and government stakeholders
- Provide written classification guidance and recommendations in accordance with DoD policy
- Review materials for public release and coordinate with Public Affairs Office (PAO) prior to submission
- Support execution of security requirements across personnel, physical, information, and industrial security disciplines
- Maintain security documentation, including Security Operations Manuals (SOMs), SOPs, and program policies
- Assist with OPSEC, SAP, visitor control, and escort program activities
- Provide support for security incident inquiries and reporting
- Maintain security records, organizational data, and program documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate meetings, working groups, and security program reviews (PMRs)
- Track taskings and action items, ensuring timely completion and reporting
- Support communication and dissemination of security policies across CONUS and OCONUS locations
- Ensure activities align with applicable DoD security directives, including DoDM 5205.07 and classification guidance
- Support internal reviews, audits, and inspections to maintain program compliance
- Assist in identifying process improvements and documenting best practices
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; or
- Associate’s degree plus 4 additional years of relevant work experience; or
- High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 6 additional years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience supporting DoD security programs (multi-discipline preferred)
- Working knowledge of:
- DoDM 5205.07 (SAP Security)
- Security classification principles and SCG application
- Experience supporting one or more areas:
- Classification management
- Public release review
- SAP or program security operations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
- Strong written communication skills (technical writing, coordination memos, guidance)
- Active Top Secret clearance (within 5 years)
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)/Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one
year of hire
- Eligible for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be able to work onsite at Wright-Patterson AFB
- Completion of initial and ongoing security training is required.
- Must meet client suitability.
