We provide housing and wraparound services for youth experiencing homelessness, family instability, or foster care challenges.
About the Role
The Youth Care Specialist provides direct, trauma-informed care in our 24-hour Emergency Youth Shelter. You’ll create a safe, structured environment where youth feel supported, respected, and valued while developing the life skills they need for independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with youth.
- Supervise and support daily routines including meals, chores, and recreation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming shelter environment.
- Use trauma-informed approaches to support youth behavior and growth.
- Complete documentation, medication logs, and communication reports.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, quality care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Passion for working with youth in crisis with compassion and professionalism.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid SC driver’s license and ability to pass background screenings.
- Must be able to remain alert and engaged during all assigned shifts.
