Mold Polisher Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mold polisher to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for refining, polishing, and finishing mold surfaces used in plastic injection and die-cast manufacturing. This mold polisher plays a key role in ensuring molds meet high-quality and precision standards to support optimal product performance and appearance. We are looking to train on 1st shift and then transition into 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Polish and finish mold surfaces to required specifications and surface finishes.
- Remove tool marks, scratches, and imperfections using stones, emery paper, polishing compounds, and hand tools.
- Operate polishing equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
- Inspect molds and surfaces for defects, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and company manufacturing guidelines.
- Work closely with mold makers, machinists, and production staff to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with mold maintenance and repair as needed.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous polishing, manufacturing, or mold related experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and polishing techniques.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret basic prints or work instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
