We are a small, client-focused Estate Planning & Elder Law firm seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our practice in Camden, Maine. We provide training in estate planning, probate, trust administration, Medicaid/long-term care planning, and related practice areas. If you have strong writing skills, empathy, and professionalism, you will thrive in this role.
What You’ll Do- Meet with clients to design estate plans
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Assist families with long-term care and Medicaid planning
- Prepare probate pleadings, inventories, notices, and settlement documents
- Communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally with clients
- Maintain accurate case files and manage deadlines
- Participate in continuing legal education and ongoing training
Required:
- J.D. degree
- Active Maine Bar license or eligibility for admission/reciprocity
- Excellent legal writing, drafting, and analytical skills
- Strong professionalism and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with clients in a clear, empathetic manner
Preferred:
- Experience or coursework in estate planning, probate, taxation, or elder law
- Judicial clerkship experience
- Client-facing experience (family law, social services, elder care, etc.)
- Interest in long-term practice and growth within a small firm
- Desire to build a career in Midcoast Maine
- Salary: $85,000–$115,000 DOE
