Your Role:
Whether it is a concern with billing, a need for directions or a patient complaint, our switchboard team is well versed in getting you where you need to go. The Switchboard Operator directs incoming, outgoing and interoffice communications. Receives patients, visitors and vendors upon arrival to the hospital; attends to the main lobby and waiting area; directs volunteer activity with regard to transport and mailroom responsibilities. To project a knowing and compassionate attitude to the patients and visitors at all times.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: 1 year in a position where responding to and redirecting calls was a major part of responsibilities
- Keyboard skills and telephone etiquette
- Switchboard console; PC
- Fundamental skills in using PC with Windows Operating System (managing windows, files, programs, shortcuts, logins; ability to use a keyboard and mouse).
- Ability to design, create, organize, and troubleshoot documents/worksheets using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
